I decided to set up Drama Babes when I was looking for a drama activity for my little boy Zavier and couldn't quite find something that hit the right note for me.

Some schools were just too "stage school" for him (and me!), I/we wanted something more "real", where we had no pressure to "perform" a certain way.  If we wanted to perform it would be for pure enjoyment and the freedom to express ourselves.  So that is how Drama Babes started! 

My aim is to allow children to have the freedom to express themselves without assessment or pressure. We sing, dance, using finger puppets and hand puppets and of course delve into storytelling and fly off on our magical adventures.  In a safe workshop environment young children are allowed to really express their own creative freedom and encouraged to be themselves.

Each week we go on a themed fantastic adventure.  We start with the children dressing up (if they choose to) then we're off with the hello song, then the children have the opportunity to share their news and they can also say who they are pretending to be that day.  We then make some art & craft and take our little "friends" that we have made onto our magic flying carpet.  We then "magic up" a ticket, fly off on our magic carpet...before we land with a "1-2-3 bump!" and are home just in time to see our finger puppet friends, read a story and catch the fairies in the magic bubbles before we end for the day!  Our magic carpet is central to our session and a real hit with the children.  Whether it’s diving under the sea, flying on a magic carpet, dancing with princesses or flying through space…the children decide where we go, what we are doing and what we see in our own imaginary world.

Tutors are police checked and first aid trained.
